Greek National Opera

Angela Giannakis studied violin and viola in Athens and London.

From 2007 to 2010, she was the viola of the New Hellenic Quartet, with which she appeared in numerous concerts in Greece and abroad, marking an important discography. As a soloist, she has appeared with the Camerata, the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra of Colours and the orchestra of Athens. She is a member of the modern music Ergon Ensemble. As an orchestra musician, she has played with the European Union Youth Orchestra, the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, the orchestra of Ensemble Modern, Sweden’s chamber orchestra Camerata Nordica and the Athens State Orchestra.

Since 2006, she has been the Principal viola of the orchestra of the Greek National Opera.
