Two musicians of the Greek Youth Symphony Orchestra (GYSO) at the Vienna Konzerthaus

For the second time within a few months, the Greek Youth Symphony Orchestra sent two talented young musicians, Giannis Antonopoulos (violin) and Efstratia Chaloulakou (cello), to Vienna for a concert at the Wiener Konzerthaus, participating as members of the Wiener Jeunesse Orchester – WJO.

The selection of these two young musicians was made by the Music Director of the Greek Youth Symphony Orchestra, Dionysis Grammenos, as part of the collaboration of the orchestra with other National Youth Symphony Orchestras, members of the European Federation of National Youth Orchestras.

The concert took place on 1st May 2019 in the historical concert hall in the city of Vienna and included pieces such as ‘Petrushka’ by Igor Stravinsky and ‘An American in Paris’ by George Gershwin, conducted by the American conductor Jonathan Stockhammer.
