Athens State Orchestra

He was born in Athens in 1972 and comes from a musical family. He began studying violin at the Athens Conservatory with P. Despotidis. During his studies, he was honored with awards and financial prizes for his achievements. In 1991, he graduated from the Attiko Conservatory with high distinction. With a scholarship from IKY (the State Scholarships Foundation), he continued his studies in Austria and Germany with S. Kafantaris, C. Polyzoidis and W. Rademacher, while looking for further musical stimuli by participating in seminars of L. David, L. Mordkovic, G. Bron and G. Halas. He received a graduate degree with distinction from the Trossingen University of Music.

Apollon Grammatikopoulos regularly appears as a soloist collaborating with ensembles and symphony orchestras from Greece and abroad (ERT Symphony Orchestra, Camerata, Volos Symphony Orchestra, Lucas David ensemble, orchestra of the Alpe-Adria contest, Athens State Orchestra, Solists of Patras, Symphony Orchestra of Athens, Philharmonic Orchestra of Sofia, Royal Danish Orchestra ensemble, etc.). He was honored at the international violin contest of Alpe-Adria in Gorizia, Italy and received positive reviews from the press during the subsequent concerts in cities in Italy, Austria, Slovenia and Croatia.

Since 2003, he has been the Sectional principal of the Athens State Orchestra, while he also regularly performs as principal. Today, he teaches at the Orfeio Conservatory of Athens.
