Aimilios Chilakis
He was born in Athens in 1970. He graduated with honours from the Drama School of the Greek Art Theatre Karolos Koun in 1991. He has worked as an actor in films and television and has also worked as an actor, producer and director in theatrical productions.
He has collaborated with the National Theatre of Greece, the Athens Epidaurus Festival, the Greek Art Theatre Karolos Koun, the Kykladon Street Theatre “Lefteris Vogiatzis”, the Municipal and Regional Theatres of Piraeus, Patras and Volos, in plays of Aristophanes, Euripides, Sophocles, G. Büchner, Molière, W. Shakespeare, H. Pinter, A. Strindberg, N. V. Gogol, R. Tomas, Τ. Williams, Β. Brecht, Α. Chekhov etc. He has collaborated with the following directors, among others: K. Koun, G. Lazanis, Μ. Kouyumtzis, N. Mastorakis, G. Chouvardas, T. Gramsas, V. Papavassiliou, T. Moumoulidis, Κ. Papakonstantinou, Ν. Karathanos, M. Marmarinos, D. Karantzas, N. Tsiannou, C. Grauzinis.
He has directed Molière’s Don Juan for the National Theatre of Greece in 2010, Pinter’s Betrayal in 2020 and has co-directed with Manolis Dounias Alone with Hamlet in 2013, Tartuffe or the Hypocrite in 2016, Iphigenia in Aulis by Euripides in 2017, Antigone by Sophocles in 2018 and Shakespeare’s plays A Midsummer Night’s Dream in 2019-2020 and Othello in 2021.
He was the initiator, founder and financial manager of the Society of Friends of the Art of Acting “PROSOPA” from 2000 to 2004.
Since 2006, he has co-founded with Athina Maximou the αρτivities (artivities) company.
