Anneleen Lenaerts

Anneleen Lenaerts is one of the most important harp soloists internationally. In December 2010 she was appointed principal harpist of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. She has performed with, among others, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Mozarteum Orchestra, the Bruckner Orchestra of Leeds, the Philadelphia Chamber Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Polish National Radio, the Brussels Philharmonic and the National Orchestra of Belgium. She has made solo debuts in prestigious halls -Wigmore Hall in London, Carnegie Hall in New York, Philharmonie in Berlin, Salle Gaveau in Paris, Großes Festspielhaus in Salzburg, Bozar in Brussels- as well as in renowned artistic events such as the Rheingau, Dresden, Lockenhaus, Moritzburg and Aspen Music Festivals. Her solo performances have been recorded by leading European radio stations (BBC 3, France Musique, Deutschlandfunk, etc.).

For the 2022 – 2023 season A. Lenaerts has scheduled performances in many countries (Belgium, Austria, Turkey, Switzerland, Colombia, Germany, UK, Switzerland) and concerts with distinguished musicians such as mandolin soloist Avi Avital, Berlin Philharmonic soloist Emmanuel Pahud, cellist Julia Hagen and soprano Christiane Karg. She has signed an exclusive contract with Warner Classics. In November 2021, she released her CD “Vienna Stories”, recorded with members of the Vienna Philharmonic, a tribute to Vienna, where opera and symphonic music are an integral part of everyday life. Already at a young age, A. Lenaerts started winning prizes in numerous international competitions. She studied harp, harmony, counterpoint and fugue at the Brussels and Paris Conservatories.  She teaches at the University of Maastricht (Netherlands) and is a Faculty member of Aspen Music Festival and School (USA).
