Alexandra Soumm
French violinist Alexandra Soumm regularly performs as a soloist with some of the major orchestras in the world, such as the Los Angeles and Israel Philharmonic Orchestras, Danish National Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra of Galicia, NHK (Japan), Detroit, Baltimore, Louisiana and many more. She has performed in solo recitals at the The Louvre Auditorium (Paris), the Herbst Theater (San Francisco), BOZAR (Brussels), Wigmore Hall (London), and at the Deauville, Schleswig-Holstein, Verbier, Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad and Varna Festivals. A staunch supporter of the younger generation of musicians, Soumm has partnered with the Youth Orchestra of the Americas, the French Youth Orchestra, and for over 10 years has maintained close ties with the Seiji Ozawa International Academy in Switzerland.
Born in Moscow, Alexandra started learning how to play the violin at the age of five and gave her first concert two years later. She later moved to Vienna to study with renowned pedagogue Boris Kuschnir, where she won first place in the 2004 Eurovision Young Musicians competition.
