GYSO's string quartet performs during the Annual Archon Weekend of the Ecumenical Patriarchate
The string quartet of the Greek Youth Symphony Orchestra is invited for a performance as part of the Athenagoras Human Rights Award Banquet, which takes place during the Annual Archon Weekend of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, in October 2024 in New York City.
The Athenagoras Human Rights Award is presented every year to a person or organization, which has consistently exemplified by action, purpose and dedication, concern for the basic rights and religious freedom of all people. The 2024 Award is presented by the Archbishop Elpidophoros of America to Yulia Navalnaya.
As part of the Annual Banquet, at the Grand Ballroom of New York Hilton Midtown, the musicians of the GYSO perform “Summer” from Antonio Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, just days before the orchestra’s historic debut at the Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall.
