Chamber Music with GYSO's musicians: Works for Strings and Piano
The Greek Youth Symphony Orchestra (GYSO) presents a chamber music concert celebrating the richness and expressive power of the repertoire for strings and piano, on Saturday, May 16th, 2026, at the “Dimitris Mitropoulos” Hall of Megaron – Athens Concert Hall.
Five emerging GYSO talents, representing the promising new generation of Greek musicians, perform both well-loved and lesser-known works of the 19th and 20th centuries. Dmitri Shostakovich’s String Quartet No. 7, a work of profound introspection and emotional depth, meets Andreas Nezeritis’ String Quartet in D major. The evening culminates with the radiant and lyrical Piano Quintet No. 2 by Antonín Dvořák.
A repertoire of high artistic demands, performed by the GYSO musicians, under the coaching of the world-class violinist Corina Belcea.
