Born in Chalkida in 1958. He studied violin with Stelios Kafantaris in the Greek Conservatory, as well as with Max Rostal in Bern. As a soloist he has collaborated with numerous orchestras and has participated in numerous international festivals and concerts across the globe. With focus on the Greek repertoire he has presented and recorded most of the Greek literature for violin, in many cases as a world premiere. Among his major achievements should be considered his contribution in recording the whole chamber work of Nikos Skalkottas. From 1976 to 2001 he taught at Lawrence University in Appleton, WI, U.S.A.
He founded the New Hellenic Quartet, which has developed a wide and international action in discography and concerts highlighting mainly the rich Greek compositions.
